Custom Ornamental Iron is a full-service architectural fabrication metal shop serving both the commercial and residential construction industries.
Started in 1989, by John Price, James Call, and Nancy Call, their combined years of experience in the metal industry totaled over 70 years. The business moved to the Glen Allen location in 1992, with just one building. In January of 2000, the growth of the company gave opportunity to create a second building and even a third in August of 2002.
Custom Ornamental Iron employs over 100 highly-trained craftsman, each with a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
James Call, John Price, and James Kramer comprise our Operations and Management Team. Each individual has over 28 years of experience and is here to guide the efforts of the company to better serve our customers.

Ranging from residential fabricators with 50 years of experience to commercial and miscellaneous fabricators with as much as 40 years experience, our personnel can only be described as true craftsmen. Each job is hand built from start to finish with full attention to detail.
With an experienced Master Machinist heading the department, our personnel are capable of a full range of machine work utilizing up-to-date CNC equipment.
Our Painting & Finishing Operation Manager has 25 years of experience in architectural metals finishing, wet painting, powder coating, and polishing with services that are second to none.
With a combination of 45 years of experience, John Price and Dan Nixon lead our ten crews of architectural, miscellaneous metals, and residential railing erectors and installers.
Employing certified welders, certified crane operators and installers with many years of experience our, capabilities are endless.
